I can't believe that I actually have to do this post just after posting her two months stats, but I have to and I am. :( She passed very early Thursday morning. Haley woke us up after 3 hours of us sleeping and LT went to check on the twins. He found Kylie and she was unconscious and her lips were already blue. He tried doing some version of CPR and I dialed 911 and they talked him through it while I threw on some pants and ran downstairs to open the door and lock up the dog. I sat on the porch weaping, hoping and praying that a miracle would happen. The ambulance showed up and rushed inside and then came back out with her a minute later. I tried calling a dear friend and then my parents in Florida to let them know. Then went upstairs to call a neighbor to watch Haley and Kiptyn while LT and I went to the hospital. There were cops there and making sure we got what we needed out of the bedroom so they could lock and secure the room. We flew over to the hospital where I was greeted by the social worker and she took me back to see her while LT parked the car. When I got there the doctor came out and told me that there was no heart activity. I went into see her still sobbing and they were still preforming CPR on her. LT then came in and the doc again told us there was no heart activity. He checked it one more time while LT and I were both in there and there was still nothing. He pronounced her at 4:37am. Where we both just stood there sobbing. We then just held her in our arms and wept. It was the worst feeling in the world. We took her foot and hand prints and then did a mold of one foot and one hand. We held her until the detective came in and wanted to talk with us about the past 24 hours. Which of course was not easy as it has been treated like a crime scene. We got back to the house about 7:30 where they took stuff from the bedroom and took pictures. We then went to get Kiptyn and Haley to get ready to take Haley to school. After that we took Kiptyn to the doctor to have his congestion checked out. Dr. Weinstein has been awesome since the day we walked in there. He gave us the signs to look for if Kiptyn was having labored breathing and we just talked. He gave us some resources as well. After leaving there we went back to the house to pack some things up to take over to my parents house. The pastor came over and then a bunch of LT's family and Alyssa. The neighbor brought us lunch as well. We got to my parents house at some point and it went from there. LT took a little nap and I got to shower.
Later in the evening, we were worried about Kiptyn's breathing, so we called the on call doc and after talking with her we decided it would be best to just take him into the hospital to be checked out. She called Fairfax to let them know we were coming, but after we got off the phone we decided it would be best to go to Fair Oaks. We called her back and she said she didn't have the numbers there to call in advance. However when we got into the ER room the doctor came in right away and gave her condolences. Everyone treated us wonderfully.
Will update in another post about Kiptyn.
